Quark was originally built by Tomasz Turski who was planning to race her in the 2016 edition of “setką przez atlantyk”. Sadly Tomasz never got to the starting line as he died in a sailing accident in the Baltic Sea in 2015. She was bought by Arkadiusz Pawełek (Kapitan Przygoda) who sailed her in the SAC 2016 edition. After finishing, the boat was acquired by “Onno”, a Dutch sailor (and great guy), who was planning to sail her in the 2020 edition of the SAC. Because of the pandemic, that race never happened and I decided to buy her from him in August 2022.
Tomasz sailing Quark to the Baltic Polonez Cup Race 2015. His daughter wrote in a last post on his blog: “We will never fully know what happened in the Baltic Sea on the night between August 11 and 12. […] I would like my Dad to be remembered not as the one who drowned, but as the one who made his dreams come true .”
